What Montessori means for learning
Montessori education gives children an active role in learning. They handle materials, make choices within clear boundaries, and return to an activity as their understanding grows. The adult offers guidance while leaving room for the child to do meaningful work.
The classroom matters too. A prepared environment is a space arranged to help children find an activity, use it purposefully, and care for it afterward. That sense of order supports participation and makes everyday independence possible.
