We want every parent and family member to be able to use this website, whatever their ability or technology.
Our standard
This website was designed and built with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard referenced for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What we have done
- Text and controls meet or exceed AA color contrast requirements.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels so they work with screen readers.
- Meaningful images have text descriptions.
- Forms have clear labels, instructions and error messages that are announced to assistive technology.
- Animation is subtle, and it is turned off for visitors who ask their device to reduce motion.
- Pages reflow for phones, tablets and zoom levels up to 400% without loss of content.
- Videos only load and play when you choose to play them.
Known limitations
Some content comes from other services, including the embedded Google map, YouTube videos, and the PDF menus and newsletters. These may not meet every accessibility requirement. If you have trouble with any of them, contact us and we will gladly provide the information another way.
